Check In

I'm checking in with good effort towards the goal. 31 minutes on the elliptical in the hotel fitness center yesterday plus a 25 minute walk from the hotel to the office. 

Today I only included the 25 minute walk from hotel to office. Close. I may do five minutes of room walking, but skipped the fitness center because I have a low grade fever. I still consider it a great effort for feeling under the weather, though, and hope to feel better in the morning!

Onward to Day 5!

I am on an overseas business trip for the third time since mid-June, making my business travel time four weeks in four months. A mere pittance to many, but more than I have ever done in my life, and a challenge since I am a homebody. I miss my people and my kitties and my home and my rituals/habits. My weight and fitness momentum this year has been in the opposite direction of my goals, and I have been truly struggling to turn that around.

I am starting with a baby step: 30 minutes of intentional movement per day. Nothing more rigid than that. Yesterday it was 30 minutes on the elliptical in the hotel fitness center, and today it was 32 minutes on the elliptical and 10 minutes on the rowing machine in the hotel
Fitness center. I have no excuses for the next five days since I have the fitness center just three floors below me, and then on to home and finding creative ways to get it into my schedule there.

After this habit is solid, I will move on to the next one. One thing at a time to turn the momentum in the right direction again and move closer to my goals!
